Region Covered

The training programme does not cover a defined region, but is funded by, and is largely confined to, the HSE Southern Region covering Co. Cork. A separate programme is now based in the Institute of Technology, Tralee, with training practices in Kerry and adjoining areas of Cork. Day release programmes, training practices and recruitment are now separate for the Cork and Southwest (Kerry) programmes.

The Training Scheme moved to its present accommodation in 3 Bloomfield Terrace on the Western Rd in October 2012 with improved teaching and social facilities. Teaching venues include both the Bloomfield premises, Western Gateway building and the UCC Brookfield Health Sciences Building [BHSC].
